Mini Hoteliers in the making at Anantara Layan Phuket

They always say children have so much potential in life and we as an adult should encourage them in every way we can. With that in mind, Anantara Layan Phuket Resort in Thailand has launched an immersive "Junior Hotelier" programme for children aged between 8 and 12, offering them a behind-the-scenes insight of the hotel life, be it a bartender, chef or housekeeper. 

The "Junior Hotelier" experience will start with a short tour of the Layan Residences, while shadowing a villa butler, learning the traditional Thai greetings for new guests and hearing their fun facts and anecdotes of hotel life. Then followed by the art of making the perfect bed, before getting creative with animal towel art. Just like origami, Junior Hotelier will learn the skill of creating jungle animals, including elephants and monkeys but with towels. 

Aside from that, they will also get a chance to play masterchef in the villa kitchen, helping the chef to prepare a meal for evening, from mixing and kneading dough for pastries to making a traditional Pad Thai. No hotel experience is complete without a signature cocktail. After cooking up a feast, Junior Hoteliers will get busy making a mocktail at the open air bar by the infinity pool, creating their own fruit concoction or mock-jito. 

The experience will end by following the footsteps of the villa butler as they demonstrate the art of a relaxing turndown service, leaving slippers out and a treat on the pillow.
